Note: There are roughly 4.6 Km in a league
Note: Vaka is the capital city of Vakad, located at the mouth of the great river that runs down from the forests of the Faeries.
Kuttan is the capital city of Kuttane, located half way along the river that runs into the sea, near to the western forest of the lycan’s.
Pargala is the only permanent city in Pargalos. It is located in the central plains on the great north road and is convenient for the nomadic Pargali to use as a market.
San Caraegna is the capital of Caraegna, it is located on the northern shores of the inner sea, in the very centre of the salt flats and sandy desert.
This is a hand drawn map of the world upon which gods and men make war. The cartographer who drew the map may have not got the distances exactly right, but they come fairly close. you can rely on this map to navigate the realms.
The Fire god Ehnhylond holds sway in the lands of Caraegna and Sinebe. Both of these provinces are desert land and are extremely hot. The flat desert plains are very exposed, and there are few oasis's dotted about the vast expanse of sand and rock.
The peoples who live here are a warrior culture, wearing full armour and chain mail, covered with purple surcoats and sashes, and more often than not, purple turbans. They are a proud people, and are easily offended, and just as quick to fight.
Their traditional weapons are long handled axes, with curved blades at both ends, which they wield with deadly skill and grace.
They are by nature a nomadic people, moving from oasis to oasis, but there are several permanent cities within each domain, all built with white stone and curved and elaborate eastern architecture.
In Caraegna, most of the cities are built in close proximity to the inland sea, which is comprised of salt water.
The Caraegnan’s have developed a method of extracting the water. They build large vats and cover them with canvas. The water evaporates in the heat and condenses on the canvas, running down the sloped sides to another, larger container in which the vat stands. This run off is then stored in large underground tanks to cool, before being pumped into the cities plumbing.
The Light Goddess Elayna holds sway in Miyeche and Oscaler. These lands have very little forest and a large amount of flat open grassy plains or gently rolling hills. Miyeche has some dry, sandy flats, which run down from the Caraegnan Mountains, but is mostly grassland.
The people who live here are a very docile and unwarlike. They take advantage of their expanse of flat, fertile land and farm their land extensively.
As a result, their nations are particularly rich, as they often have much more food than their peoples require, and trading or selling this to other nations brings them a healthy profit each year.
The Earth Goddess Arianna holds sway in the lands of Kuttane and Aria. These lands are heavily forested and abundant in all kinds of colourful flora and fauna.
The peoples make a living from the land, farming open, flat areas and harvesting the natural fruits and berries from the forests.
They have an abundant supply of timber, and make much profit each year from selling good building materials to their neighbours.
Both Kuttane and Aria, however mostly the latter build many merchant vessels which trade across the inner sea. This has led to the rapid growth of several prosperous cities along the coasts of these nations.
The Wind Goddess Haizea is worshipped by the peoples of Vakad and Pamaa. These lands are far to the north and suffer extremely cold winters, and Vakad is constantly swept by howling winds and furious gales.
The peoples here make their living from the sea, and are masters of ship building. They build massive fishing galleys like none ever before seen, and they bring in tremendous amounts of seafood.
They have also developed very sleek and fast war ships which patrol their coasts, in search of the pirates and smugglers from their homeland who use the very same vessels to practice their trade.
The Ice God Watari holds sway in the lands of Bakorte and Dimalie. These lands are northernmost of the civilized nations and have almost constant snow all year round. Much like their neighbours in Pamaa, these people make a living from the sea, fishing for food and whaling for food, fun and profit.
Whale blubber is a useful lantern fuel, valuable all over the world. Unlike their neighbours however, these people build only very functional ships, and tend to fish in larger amounts of smaller craft.
The many furred and blubber rich animals native to the lands provide warm clothing, hides and food. Although the lands are sparsely populated, there are still a few large sized towns and cities.
The Thunder Goddess Serenity holds sway in Pargalos and Galana. These lands are mostly rolling plains and flat grassland. The lands are very fertile, but the peoples do not farm the land. The people living here are nomadic. They herd cattle, and ride horses for the task, moving their homes with the herds over which they stand watch. They trade their cattle and milk that they do not need for other essentials.
Most of the men in these cultures were able to ride a horse by the age of eight and have spent the majority of their life in the saddle. They are a proud people who place a great importance on tradition, honour, propriety and respect.
The Water Goddess Delphine is worshipped by the peoples in Agoria and Khovo. These lands have a large amount of coastline and a damp climate. The peoples have taken to the sea to make their living, most from fishing and trade, but some from ambushing and looting merchant vessels on the inner sea.
The people are warlike, but not overly sophisticated. Crime is common in their society and they do not hold honour in high regard. They drink heavily and are very fond of long beards and axes.
Their only commendable attribute is their military discipline. Orders are enforced with fists and feet rather than the law, and although they are not strictly regimented, they are an effective fighting force.
More often than not, small private armies put themselves up for hire. There's always a war brewing somewhere.
